Guizeppe Marenzi started Herno in post-war Italy, specifically in the small town of Lesa located along Lake Maggiore in the north of the country. The whole story starts with a desire to create clothes that could protect against snow and icy winds from the Alps in winter, rain, fog and humidity and, not least, oppressive heat in summer. All this without abandoning the Italian style and elegance.

So in Lesa, in the valley where the river Erno flows, Giuseppe Marenzi and his wife Diana had the opportunity to take over an old factory that had been in operation on the banks of the river since the early 20th century. The water in the river provided energy for all the machines in the factory and the brand is therefore also a tribute to the area and to the river Erno. They quickly became recognized for their craftsmanship and quality, and many of the world's most famous luxury brands produce their clothes at Herno's factory.

Today, Herno "after being put away in a drawer in the 1990s" is a well-known brand in the luxury market, it is constantly growing and is predicted to be the next Moncler!
