Founded in 1946, Sebago was started by three friends from New England: Daniel J. Wellehan Sr., William Beaudoin and Joseph Cordeau. Their basis is the technique that the Indians used to sew their moccasins. Sebago's requirements are that the shoes must withstand active use and at the same time be durable, comfortable and silent. The Sebago shoe range is not just Docksides, although they have been a role model for all sailing shoes around the world and are used as a general term for this type of shoe.
