Sneakers , or in the singular sneaker , is a newer general term for various types of light, soft jog- or sports shoes to recreational use. Such shoe usually have laces, upper leather off textile and soft soles off rubber or art materials. They are often in fashionable color combinations. Sneakers are similar to traditional ones sports and cloth shoes which tennis- and trainers. Modern sneakers can also have velcro and stronger soles and be sewn from soft leather.

The word sneakers is original American English and actually means "sneakers", i.e. shoes that you can sneak easily and quietly in. Jogging and training shoes are often also called trainers in English.
